Tempted to Buy TEMPTU

August 12, 2010

So I do a little bit of modeling and acting, and Tuesday I went to QVC here in Pennsylvania for a go-see (for all those not in the know, it’s just a modeling audition).  It was for the TEMPTU Airbrush Makeup System, and I was very impressed with the product!  I had seen it before at Sephora, but always dismissed the notion of it.  Now I’m changing my tune!

When television started broadcasting in High Definition, makeup artists all recommended airbrushing foundation so that anchors and actors wouldn’t look like their makeup was caked-on.  (I worked full-time at various news stations, and believe me, even the men would glop it on and matte it down with heavy powder).  The issue  was that the airbrush systems were very expensive.  The TEMPTU really comes through as a great consumer buy - it’s within most people’s reach at $225.oo.  The foundation, blush and highlighter ”airpods” are $30 each, but that’s what I pay for foundation with other high-end makeup brands for my on-camera work – and they don’t give results like this!

In my humble opinion, the. coverage. was. perfect.  The amazing thing was, it was a nice medium coverage that got rid of minor imperfections, yet my summertime freckles still showed through.  And you couldn’t see it on my skin, unlike when I apply mineral powder or full coverage liquid foundations.   You can also dial up and dial down the amount of coverage you get by the amount of pressure you put on the trigger or adjusting the compressor.  And the most amazing thing to me was, (the reason I’m blogging about it), it stayed on ALL DAY!  As a girl with oily skin, it’s hard to find a foundation that doesn’t smear and then disappear by 4pm – but at 11pm last night it was still going strong!

I don’t know yet if I am going to be booked as a model for the system, but I’m happy just to talk about it.  You can buy it at Sephora today, or order online at  QVC and skip the trip.  Happy airbrushing!
